Imran Khan (Kinda Funny co-host and former senior editor at Game Informer) on the latest Kinda Funny Gamescast said that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is coming sooner than expected, and it will launch around Christmas 2021. He also said that he knows too much about the game, so he didn’t want to speculate. The comment starts around 1:40:15 in the video posted below.

The 2021 release date of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 looks likely due to the following two reasons. First, it’s expected to be set again in New York City, with some new locations added. Second, unlike during the development of the first game, Insomniac Games is now a part of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Worldwide Studios, so the development of the sequel should be faster.

As of July 28, Marvel’s Spider-Man has sold over 13.2 million units globally, and it is on track to become the highest-selling PlayStation exclusive game. If its sequel is indeed coming in 2021, then we can expect Sony to officially reveal it at either E3 2020 or at the official launch party of the PlayStation 5.
